Tell me about yourself - job interview question. Good/bad answer. How to...

Learn English 35 - Job Interview

  • I was a Chelsea supporter.
  • Fui torcedor do Chelsea.
  • torcerI supported Chelsea.
  • Torcia pro Chelsea.
Os americanos usam “root”:
  • Chuck roots for the Chicago Bulls.
Como torcedores seremos:
  • Michel is a Chelsea fan/supporter.
  • Chuck is a Bulls fan/supporter.
  • The fans were cheering on the team.
  • The fans cheered, and the cheerleaders danced, when the team scored.
  • A torcida aplaudiu e as “cheerleaders” dançaram quando o time marcou.
  • She turned up her nose at my offer of a drink.
  • A faxineira torceu o pano.
  • The cleaning lady wrung out the cloth. (do verbo wring)
  • Walking on uneven ground you may sprain your ankle.
  • To kill a chicken some people wring its neck.
  • A: Toma outra bebida? B: Sim, se você me obrigar.
  • A: Have another drink? B: OK, if you twist my arm.
  • Eu abri o pulso / a mão.
  • I sprained my wrist.
  • Ela torceu o nariz à minha sugestão.
  • She grimaced at my suggestion.
  • He was wringing his hands in despair when he found out that “torcer” means so many different things.
Well, I hope this has helped you with your vocabulary (Bem, torço para que isso tenha ajudado você com seu vocabulário).
